Now and then, it’s fun to do something new and thrilling with your exercise routine. It breaks up the monotony and gets you excited about working out all over again! That’s why I decided to give you a list of the coolest gym classes ever.

The Coolest Gym Classes Ever

From Thailand’s bungee workouts to aerial yoga, these gym classes are seriously amazing.

So, if you are a bit bored with your usual fitness routine, you should consider attending one of the coolest gym classes ever (I know I would LOVE to! And I did try aerial yoga, for example).

Handstand Classes

I have been training myself to be able to do a handstand for SO long!

And they are very difficult, so I still haven’t mastered it.

I’ve often thought about how cool it would be to have someone coach me so that I could actually do a proper handstand without needing to lean up against a wall.

Well, handstand classes actually exist!

They will help you progress from doing a simple headstand, to holding yourself in a plank upside down (i.e. a handstand).

They’re amazing for your core strength and look like a lot of fun.

And then you can whip out cool handstands in the park or at the beach and show off your skills!

Aerial Yoga

Do you know everything there is to know about yoga? Think again!

Aerial yoga takes the experience to a whole new level.

Participants use hammocks made of a tough, stretchy, high-density material, which are hung from webbing straps and support chains.

The workout includes traditional yoga movements but incorporates the hammock for extra support.

When you do this workout, you might find yourself sitting calmly and stretching in midair, a few feet from the ground.

You’ll probably hang upside down for a few poses, depending on what the instructor requests.

I tried this class at a gym and absolutely fell in love! It was so much fun, it didn’t even feel like a workout.

You can also set up your own aerial yoga swing at home – check out this beautiful gold yoga swing on Amazon (healthy model life yoga swing).

The Bungee Workout

For this gym class, participants hop into a hip harness that’s fastened to a single bungee cord.

The harder you pull against the cord, the higher you get to fly! You can run and jump off walls and get your bounce on!

It’s like the best of cardio and resistance training combined!

Be aware, though— the routine is incredibly intense. According to one testimonial, participants may burn up to 1200 calories during a single session.

I have seen these classes mostly in Thailand but there are becoming more and more popular in the rest of the world.

You can see an example of this awesome workout here.

Parkour

Are you interested in amping up your regular run or jog? Add an element of excitement with parkour, an exercise trend that started in France.

Parkour is all about moving quickly through urban or natural environments, going over, under, or along obstacles swiftly and gracefully instead of avoiding them.

You’ve probably seen lots of these crazy Parkour videos on social media and thought that they look waaay too hard for you (guilty).

But you might be surprised!

Look for parkour beginner classes and workout sessions happening near you!

Pole Fitness

I know this might seem like something you would only do at a bachelorette party, but it’s actually a super tough workout!

It strengthens your upper body as well as your core and legs.

It’s a great way to try something a bit sexier and more out there.

And also a great way to get fit, burn calories and have fun with your friends (or on your own!). the coolest gym classes ever

Naked Yoga

I’m not sure if this would be super liberating or super awkward. But I’ve only heard good things about it!

Yoga is all about getting in touch with your body and mind, and what better way to do that than being fully exposed and vulnerable.

And OK if naked yoga isn’t your thing (understandably), there are also dog and goat yoga classes, where you can have puppies running around (OMG) or have baby goats jumping all over you!

Aqua Cycling

This is like a spin class that you do in a pool!

I don’t know about you, but I find that spin rooms get extremely hot and I always get ridiculously sweaty.

So the thought of doing it in the water is heaven! If you start getting sweaty, just splash some water on yourself.

And from a fitness perspective, the water adds a little extra resistance helping you burn maximum calories!

Obstacle Course Workouts

Have you ever watched American Ninja Warrior?

Obstacle course workouts are sweeping the nation, spawning competitions like Spartan Race and Tough Mudder.

If you participate in a Spartan Race, you might find yourself climbing walls, crawling through mud, squirming under barbed wire, or jumping over a fire pit.

Basically, the more insane the obstacle course, the better!

Of course, your local obstacle-course-style workout class probably won’t involve that level of potential danger.

But still, the routine could be very helpful for your fitness goals, letting you work those rarely-used muscles, improving flexibility, and strengthening your core.

Bossaball

Originating in Spain, the game of Bossaball is a little over a decade old.

It’s like volleyball played on a trampoline, with some Brazilian dance moves and a little football mixed in.

For bossaball, the referee or workout leader often functions as a DJ as well!

As you can imagine, you’ll burn a lot of calories with this fast-paced game, and who doesn’t love working out to awesome music!

Here you can see how it all looks.

If you can find a bossaball class or experience near you, try it out!

So that was my list of the coolest gym classes, hope you liked it!

Let me know if you have tried any of these cool gym classes or if you have any other classes that you would recommend!
