OK the photo does not do this recipe justice. It is my favourite and I’ve made it about 4 times in the past few weeks haha. My husband said it tastes like a Nutella slice and my mum said it tastes like ice cream (it’s best kept in the freezer). It is seriously the best!! I hope you make it :)
Here is the recipe for this amazing chocolate peanut butter slice.
Base Ingredients
- 1 cup nuts (I used almonds)
- ½ cup shredded coconut
- 10 fresh dates
- 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil or water
- Pinch of salt
Chocolate Filling Ingredients
- 8 fresh dates
- 1 can coconut milk
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ cup chocolate protein powder (or you can leave this out)
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup natural peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey or sweetener
- Pinch of salt
Peanut Butter Topping Ingredients
- ½ cup natural peanut butter
- 1/3 cup honey or sweetener
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- Put nuts into blender and blend.
- Then add dates and mix again.
- Then add coconut, coconut oil and salt and blend up really well. It will still be a little crumbly but will stick together when you press it.
- Line dish with baking paper and press mixture into the dish.
- Mix the dates, coconut milk and cocoa in the blender and blend well so the dates are all blended.
- Then add all the remaining filling ingredients.
- Pour on top of base and then put in freezer.
- Mix all topping ingredients in the blender and then gently spoon over the filling.
- Keep in the freezer overnight and then cut the next day.
I like to cut mine into tiny pieces (about 2cms) and then keep it in the freezer and take it out a few minutes before eating it.
Let me know if you give it a try! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Btw on #6 do you stir or blend in the rest of the filling ingredients?
Hi lovely,
All of the ingredients are blended (the base, filling and topping are blended separately and then combined). xx

Hi! What did you use for the chocolate topping?
In this recipe Rachael used store bought dark chocolate topping. It’s ok to use whichever you can find or leave it out (it’s optional).xx
