
Since you seem to like my model guest post series, today I have another blog post from the same category – Model Workout and Diet Tips by Karri Nicholas.
Karri’s a young model and she’s very passionate about working out regularly and eating well. And, as you know, I’m all about helping and supporting women who care about their health. :)

What type of exercise do you do? Do you have any favourite workouts or gyms?
I do a mixture of workouts so I don’t get bored and work all the muscles in my body!
I do pilates twice a week, boxing, and intense HIIT classes 4 times a week.
Also, I like to go for walks along the beach on the weekend. I’ve just started training at FitStop which has really got my fitness levels up!
How many times per week do you workout?
At least 5, sometimes 6! Sunday is my rest day always. My partner is a personal trainer so there are no excuses to snooze my alarm haha!
Being a model, I’m sure you need to be in shape all year round. But if you ever have to be in a bikini or lingerie for a shoot, do you do anything special before to look your best?
If I know I have a bikini shoot coming up I will train hard and have a lighter meal the night before so I’m not bloated.
I’ll also drink lots of water to get my skin glowing.
Additionally, I’ll always bring snacks with me to shoots like fruit, nuts, a muesli bar or some dark chocolate to keep my energy up.
What does your average day on a plate look like? Do you stick to any particular diet?
My diet is definitely all about balance and moderation.
I try to never restrict myself as I’ve fallen down that track when I was younger and it’s easy to get into a bad mindset.
I think it’s all about finding what works for your body and following the 80/20 rule. 80% healthy, 20% indulgence.
Breakfast: Natural peanut butter on rye bread & a long black with a dash of soy
Snacks: I graze all day but snacks are usually fruit, muesli bars, carrots and hummus, protein shake
Lunch: Tuna or chicken stack on Ryvita crackers with tomato, cheese or gherkins
Dinner: Always some kind of meat, vegetable and rice/pasta dish :)
If I’m eating out, I always go for an acai bowl for breakfast and pasta for dinner.

Do you ever have cheat meals? If so, what’s your favourite food to indulge in?
I try to eat
I love mint chocolate, a good burger or pizza with prosciutto and mozzarella.
How do you stay motivated to workout and eat healthy?
There are a few reasons why I love to workout.
It’s good to move your body, it increases your mood with endorphins, you sleep better, feel better and generally look better!
Once you get into a routine it’s easy to keep going and you’ll crave the feeling.
Also, I always feel better when I’m nourishing my body with good food – and you can make healthy food tasty!
What’s your number 1 fitness tip for other young women out there?
Listen to your body!
Find what works for you and what makes you feel good.
Stay active, get enough sleep, exercise for you only, and never restrict yourself.
