What is the best exercise to lean and tone your legs? You might be thinking the answer is squats. And while squats do target your lower body, they tend to grow the muscles in your legs and not slim them down.
If your goal is to have lean legs, then you should avoid exercises such as squats and lunges.
It’s also important that you keep in mind that not all workouts work the same for everybody. First of all, you will need to know your body type as this will determine the type of workout and nutrition routine you should follow. Some body types build muscles easily (endomorphs and mesomorphs), so you need to be careful what kind of exercises you are doing. If you notice that a certain type of exercise is bulking your legs, then stop doing it immediatelly!
